An update to this question. The current version Braintapper Exchange, which is a LAMP application is probably going to be open sourced at some point in time. Any future incarnations of the Exchange will likely be on a different platform and remain closed source.

All you need to join is an OpenID, e-mail address and a nickname!

Braintapper Exchange uses some open sourced code and technologies, but the engine itself is closed source.
Braintapper was built on the CodeIgniter framework and uses some open sourced PHP libraries such as for the OpenID integration.
On the front-end, Braintapper uses JQuery and the 960 grid system.
We are investigating into the productization of the engine behind Braintapper Exchange, but have nothing to announce at this stage.
