Braintapper Exchange is a bit of a mashup of several different things. The Q&A portion, which is the primary part of the site, is inspired by sites like Stack Overflow and Yahoo Answers.
The social bookmarking part of the site is inspired by Slashdot, Delicio.us, Reddit and Digg.
The Job Board wasn't really inspired by simple job boards like the one on 37signals and Joel on Software.
Really, the goal of the Braintapper Exchange was to provide a centralized social network for business intelligence professionals to exchange answers, ideas and job postings.
Braintapper is an open community for business intelligence professionals.
Ask and answer questions, post interesting social bookmarks, and job postings for free!
All you need to join is an OpenID, e-mail address and a nickname!

Braintapper Exchange is a social network site designed for business intelligence professionals.
It's designed to be an alternative to other technical sites that don't let you see any content without paying or blitzing through obnoxious advertising overlays.
We have advertising here, and we do require membership to ask and answer questions, but we make every attempt to make the content free and unobstructed.
This site is also an alternative to vendor support sites, which require you to be an active paying customer. We realize that many consultants out there are not working for partners and can't afford to be members of a vendor's support site.
It is our hope that this site becomes a repository of useful information related to business intelligence tools, hot topics, job postings as well as questions and answers.
